A HISTORY OF THE ANGST MACHINA, 2003

This video piece was intended to be a 30 minute narrative that was a supplement for the mythology surrounding the Angst Machina (refer to Utopia Print Series commentary). It became clearer the longer that I worked on it that it was becoming increasingly too narrative and there were a lot of video pieces I had come across that were very much primary experiences as opposed to documentary or narrative pieces that guide a viewer through a story line and dictate the outcome (which I decided was a much better solution for some future video work that I was trying to make into a narrative). So, I cut the piece down to approximately 9 minutes, leaving it in its narrative form, rather than expanding it and subsequently have begun other video pieces that are intended as primary pieces in themselves.
